My name is LeAnna Harris, and I along with many others want to help a wonderful family. A very dear friend of mine, Decole Myers, and her husband, Jimmy Myers, and their four children, Gage, Taylor, Gunner, and Wes, have suffered a great loss, followed by a terrible accident.
On July 23, 2016, the Myers Family home caught fire. Everyone, including animals, were accounted for and unharmed. Their beautiful home, however, was a total loss. After the fire, Decole's brother, Chris James, graciously opened his home to his sister, brother-in-law, three nephews and one niece. Decole and Chris are extremely close...as siblings should be. The love between siblings is a bond that only strengthens more as it is tested. This bond is being strengthened and tested amongst Decole and Jimmy's own children right now.
You see, the day after the fire, July 24, 2016, Taylor was involved in a terrible accident. She was thrown from a horse. The horse then kicked her in the head. She was transported to OU Medical via medi-flight. She has had surgery to remove a growing blood clot. This surgery required the removal of part of her skull, which was fractured and shattered, in order to reach the affected area. Other fractures include her left eye socket and left cheek bone. She has struggled with pain management and lack of rest.
Taylor is a fighter, and she is progressing well. Her parents and siblings have been by her side since day one. She has many other family members that have been her champions as well. The James/Myers family bond is one branded by their faith, courage, love and the many cherished friendships they have fostered.
With the total loss of their home and belongings and mounting medical bills, I am asking anyone and everyone to not only pray for this great family, but to donate out of the goodness of your heart and humanity alone. If you do not know Decole, Jimmy, Gage, Taylor, Wes, and Gunner, then you are missing a few good-hearted people and down-to-Earth kids in your life. If you do know them, then I do not need to remind you of their kindness, love for family and friends, and their awesome personalities. This family is truly one of a kind.
