It takes but one moment to change the course of your life forever.
In May of 2022, I was welcomed into a club no one wants to be apart of, the cancer club.
Any aspirations, goals, plans suddenly come to an immediate halt as your focus now becomes surviving.
I was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma, which is a form of blood cancer that causes a mutation of the plasma cells within the bone marrow. MM causes a multitude of issues including kidney damage, bone degeneration, fractures, extreme fatigue, mental fogginess/confusion, mets (tumors) to the skeletal system. Though advances have been made in treatment, to date there is NO CURE.
For being the second most common blood cancer in Canada, it remains relatively unknown amongst our population, which leads me to..
THE WHY AND THE GOAL of this page.
Over 14 days and 1,200km, myself and a group of friends will be cycling from Sudbury, ON to Myeloma Canada Headquarters in Dorval, QC to raise awareness and funds.
We will be documenting our journey and welcome riders along the way.
