Hello, my name is Jonathan Mayen and I am 18 years old born in Southern California. I started playing the beautiful game of soccer at a very early age of three years old. Ever since I’ve got older and older I had that dream, to one day make it big and play professionally through my hard work and dedication to the sport. I’ve trained with the Chivas USA Academy, played for the LA Galaxy Academy, and currently play for the Pateadores Academy, I thank my dad for coaching me throughout the years without him I wouldn't be where I'm at today. Being part of these great organizations have lead me to this one in a lifetime opportunity, this dream of mine is slowly becoming a reality; recently I had received an invitation from an international soccer academy based in London, England to their 10 month program where I will not only play soccer but also be furthering my education out there as well, they are asking me to take a gap year after I graduate this year from high school. They are impressed with how well I can play at the elite level and offered me a spot on their academy. I already committed to the academy program, and I’m very excited to have been given this opportunity. However, at this moment my family can’t pay for the cost of this academy. My parents went through a tough time financially after losing our home and even though both my parents work long hours, they still struggle to pay for my soccer and education. This is the reason why I’m reaching out to the people who have an open mind and heart, friends and family also, help making my dream come true. Any amount of donations are appreciated.
