This hasn’t been an easy decision to make. But i am left with little to no choice.So here it is....
A few weeks ago, i was granted full residency to Canada . For those of you not familiar with my situation, life in the U.S. has been quite difficult even after risking everything and coming to the U.S. from a war-torn country 13 years ago, putting myself through grad school, and working hard while dealing with the hardships current US immigration politics have brought to people like me. By going to Canada, i am offered the rare opportunity to start a new life, at least work hard to live the life i dreamed for myself. The only issue is that the Canadian government demands that new residents acquire at least $9000 of personal funds to enter the country. By saving from past jobs and with the help of my family, i was able to come up $5000. However with my temporary Canadian visa approaching its expiration date and after trying in endlessly and in vain to find a job or a way to make extra cash , i am slowly running out of options to come up with the remaining $4000.
Like i said, telling the world about my struggle isnt on my list of proudest life moments but right now the water is running deep.....
I started a gofund me page for those who can help in any capacity....I mean it literally, ANY contribution will help, even a symbolic cent or simple words of encouragement...I know a lot of you are going through tough times and i appreciate you for even giving your time to read this and even more for anyone to share my story.
