Bosley is my Greater Swiss Mountain Dog that I have had since he was a p
uppy. He is my best friend, my companion and my protection as a single woman. We have had an active life together with many long, long walks along the lake in Chicago. He is beginning to have some health issues that affect his back legs and we are unable to go on long walks anymore as he will totally collapse and be unable to move. It is with extreme difficulty to get up on the couch or bed with me. We first visited our vet for an extensive exam and we were referred to a neurologist for a first round of tests. His care has cost almost $2,000.00 and we aren't even at the testing phase yet. He needs an ultrasound now for his stomach and spleen which were discovered to be enlarged in xrays. If all goes okay there, he will immediately be sedated for an MRI to check issues with his spine. We need more funds to get treatment for him to be healthy again and walk pain free. I am a single woman in downtown Chicago working 9-5 everyday (I go home every day, rain or shine to see him and walk him outside), and he is my life and my soul. He is my security and my security blanket. I feel heartbroken and helpless. I need him around for a couple of more years. We need each other.
