Dear family, friends and donors,

My name is Mya Heard and I am currently a sophomore in high school.  I am a diligent student, passionate ballet dancer and love foreign languages as well as music.  I trained at the San Francisco Ballet School for 6 years while maintaining excellent grades. I am interested in pursuing a career in medicine because I want to empower others to lead vibrant, healthy lives.

Amazingly, I have been accepted  into the Oxford Tradition of the Oxbridge Academic Programs where I will study medical sciences and photography during July. The $8,450 tuition covers room and board, two meals a day, daily classes/lectures at Oxford University, group activities on the weekends and ground transportation to and from the airport in London. I will be the first in my family to study abroad in high school and this will my first exposure to studying medicine! What better place to begin than at the prestigious Oxford University.

I applied for and received a scholarship for the tuition, but this amount does not cover the full cost of the trip.  Other costs include round-trip airfare, supplemental meals and lesson supplies. I will need additional funds from gracious, kind supporters and donors like yourselves to offset the rest of these costs.  Hence, I created this to help make my first study abroad and dream of studying medicine become a reality. Any donation of any amount would be greatly appreciated.
