Jera aka "Mya" struggled with mental health issues for over 7 years and was hospitalized several times. They were diagnosed with Bipolar I Disorder, Manic Depression, Social Anxiety, and Body Dysmorphia. Jera always said "I don't wish my mental illness on anyone." Despite having mental illness, they were a kind, loving, caring, and a selfless person that had a heart for others, even complete strangers. Jera was well loved by their family and orbit, but it wasn't enough. This world was so cruel to them while they resided on this earth and rather than continue to suffer, they gave up on this world and felt it was better to be anywhere else instead of a place where she wasn't loved, judged and their kindness taken for granted. We lost our Mya on February 17th of this year to suicide. They were only 24 years old. In order to honor her legacy, we are starting Mya’s Angels Foundation to combat suicide and help those dealing with mental health issues.
