Help Myanmar Recover from the March 28th Earthquakes
Donation protected
Hi, I am Lynn. I am fund raising to Help Myanmar Recover from the March 28th Earthquake
- I am currently based in the UK and originally from Mandalay, Myanmar.
- I grew up in Mandalay, Myanmar, a place that holds deep personal meaning for me.
- I am raising money to help the people of Mandalay recover from the recent earthquake. Many of them are friends, neighbors, and members of the community I grew up with.
- The funds will be used to provide clean drinking water, basic medicines, emergency shelters, and to support the rebuilding of homes. Additionally, we will offer direct support to families who have lost their loved ones and homes in the disaster.
On Friday, March 28th at 12:50 PM, a devastating 7.7 magnitude earthquake struck central Myanmar, near Mandalay.
Over 2,700 people have lost their lives, thousands are injured, and entire communities are now homeless.
Homes, schools, temples, and vital infrastructure have crumbled. The need for aid is urgent.
For me, this is more than a headline — it’s home.
That morning, I woke with a sinking feeling and rushed to check on my loved ones. I was able to reach family and friends in Yangon, but Mandalay — my hometown — was silent.
The hours that followed felt like days. When the images and news finally came through, my heart broke.
I grew up playing around the Mandalay Palace. Now, the city is unrecognizable — buildings gone, streets reduced to rubble.
People I grew up with are suffering. Some have lost their homes. Some are still searching for missing loved ones.
Fortunately, my immediate family is safe — but many others are desperate for help.
The Situation is Dire
People are suffering, fighting for survival. Many are too afraid to return to their homes, spending their nights on the streets in fear of aftershocks.
Bodies remain trapped beneath collapsed buildings. With the intense heat, the smell of death is beginning to rise — a haunting reality no one should have to face.
I feel deeply unsettled by every piece of news I receive. I can't stop thinking:
"How can I help in the fastest and most effective way?"
It’s heartwarming to see rescue teams from neighboring countries working tirelessly, risking their lives to save others. Amid the devastation, their courage shines as a glimmer of hope.
Witnessing them rescue children, pregnant women, and the elderly from beneath the rubble is nothing short of heroic. In the face of overwhelming tragedy, these acts of humanity remind us that even in the darkest moments, hope endures.

Who and how we will manage the fund?
Miss Thin Yu Naing - My niece in Mayanmar -
She is helping organize direct outreach to affected families. The goal is to visit victims who have lost loved ones or homes and offer immediate financial support, emotional care, and basic necessities.
Mr. That T Myo - A friend based in Thailand, who will purchase essential supplies (food, medicine, daily necessities) at more reasonable prices than in Mandalay, where prices have surged post-earthquake. She would then arrange shipment directly to those in need in Mandalay. This approach helps us maximize the value of each donation.
They will help distribute:
Emergency food supplies
Clean drinking water
Basic medicine
Shelters
Rebuild homes
Support families who have lost their loved ones and homes
Your donation, no matter how small, can save lives.
