I'm asking for help for a family in Mandalay, Myanmar.

We visited Mandalay in 2018 and saw their show (great laugh!).

They were featured in the Hugh Grant film 'About a Boy' when he was taking part in a telephone fund raising as one of the brothers had been imprisoned for making fun of the government.

Since then, things had slowly got better with a democratic government, but worse again when the military took charge again.

As you will have seen on the news the situation is now really bad.

I've kept in touch with this family on and off since we met and was very worried when we heard about the earthquake.

Luckily they were unharmed but their property is severely damaged as you can see.

I have sent them a little money via Western Union which they were able to access.

I'd like to send them some more to help them get back on their feet. As there has been no tourism for a few years they are now very poor.

Anything you can spare will help as a little money goes quite a long way in Myanmar.

I know there are national appeals but this way you will know that your money is going directly to help a family.
