Hope for Mya Anne (Trisomy 18)
Donation protected
Mya Anne Mincey was born 1/6/16 at 1:50 pm weighing in at 5 lbs. 6 oz. to proud parents Sabina Carranza and Omar Mincey. Her older siblings Jadelynn, Aedan, Maurizio, and Naomi love her so much! She has been diagnosed with a chromosomal abnormality called Trisomy 18. This means she has three copies of chromosome 18 in all of the cells in her body. This caused many of Mya's organs to develop in an abnormal way. She also has a hole in her heart, but her love for her family and fight to live is fierce! Therefore they will be taking her home with hospice care so that they can love and cherish her for whatever amount of time she has with them. She has beat many odds already in her short few days.
Victoria and I (both Mya Anne's Aunties) have set up this fundraiser to assist Mya and her family with the expenses and medical cost associated with her illness, including the financial loss from not being able to work. There were also many-needed baby items not purchased due to the uncertainty of Mya being able to go home from the hospital, which is happening, today 1/8/16. YAY! Funds will also help with her final expenses. All we know is the immense pain we feel at the thought of losing this precious baby girl. We have an uncertain road ahead. This has been very difficult for our family as you can imagine. However, we believe that God created her, that He does not make mistakes, and He has a plan for Mya and our family. God is bigger than our fears and our pain.
It means so much to our family, and even more than you can imagine to Sabina and Omar that you've taken time to visit this page to read about their journey with baby Mya. If you can support them in any way, a donation to this gofundme page, a meal delivered to them, gift cards for food (take out/groceries), help with the older siblings it would be greatly appreciated at this time of need.
We will be forever thankful for any help or donation big or small. Our hope for Sabina and Omar is that they have as much time as possible at home with baby Mya before needing to return to work. We cannot imagine Mya being in the care of anyone beside her loving parents. Both Sabina and Omar are also Reservist in the Air Force. They have both selflessly served our country demonstrating an extensive amount of fight for strangers they will never have the pleasure of meeting, and are now in a time of need. Please help them fight for baby Mya!
"And though she be but little, she is fierce"
~William Shakespeare
*Please respect their time over the next few weeks by limiting the length of visits and phone calls as they adjust to their new life at home with Mya and the kids.
Sincerely,
Nina Carranza & Victoria Carranza
