Hi everyone! I am Candi, Mya's grandmother (Mammy).

When Mya was born, she had craniosynostosis. Craniosynostosis is when the skull is fused during gestation. When she was 18 months old, she had her first surgery, which required breaking the skull and removing some to allow the brain to develop and grow.

The surgery went great, and she had no complications. But as she grew, all of the fused bone didn't close, leaving a 'soft spot.' Therefore, she has to have another surgery to close the soft spot. The prognosis is good, and she should not require further surgeries.

She will have to be out of school for a while, and her Mama, Heather, will be out of work for a time (without enough vacation days to cover).

I am requesting donations to help with traveling to and from the hospital and just living while not working.
