Hurricane Idalia damages home of widowed veteran
Donation protected

This fundraiser is being created to help Seth Horner and his 2 young children recover from a string of tragic and life changing events.
Yesterday on August 30, 2023, Seth, Lily(5) and Henry (8mos) rode out Hurricane Idalia in Perry Fl with myself and his stepdad. Fortunately our home was strong and we had no personal injury and limited structural damage.
Once we were able to make the drive across town, we realized Seth and his young family were not as lucky. A large pine tree feel directly into his home literally splitting it in half. While the property damage is massive, we are most grateful that he chose to not stay during the storm.
The emotional and certainly the financial strain of this, when coupled with the unimaginable tragedy suffered earlier this summer is going to be difficult to navigate with out some help.
3 months ago Seth, and his children suffered the excruciating sudden death of his wife Rubi. Rubi, a US Army Veteran fell victim to a mental health crisis at just 28 years old. The loss seemed insurmountable, but Seth; a US Army combat veteran himself picked himself and his children literally up off the floor and began working toward finding a new normal for his family in the home he and Rubi had just recently and proudly purchased. He has learned quickly that the expenses of death without life insurance and raising a 5 year old and an infant with the sudden lose of both your life partner and the income she provided can wipe out any nest egg
you may have very quickly.
It’s time to ask for some help. Some help with day to day living expenses for he and his children. Help with the expenses of displacement while their home is unlivable. Help with the bills that don’t care that it’s been a hell of summer. Please if you can. Help.
