A Dream Continued in Honor of Andre Lewis
Donation protected
Andre Lewis was a devoted husband, father, son, and friend. A kind soul with a contagious smile & heart so big, that he instantly warmed every room he entered. Andre brought non-stop laughter to all those who knew him. His jokes, advice, and stories about his PS 140, JHS 72, Springfield High School days and events of the 80’s & 90’s in Queens, left everyone intrigued & wanting to hear more.
Andre was a hard working man dedicated to supporting his family & friends in every way.
When he wasn’t working, he was spending time with his wife Shemika and their 12 year old daughter, Tamia. Andre had a passion for teaching and learning new things; If he didn’t know something, he would research it. He had an unwavering belief in education and his personal responsibility was to ensure that his daughter succeeded in life and followed her dreams of becoming a Lawyer.
On March 29th, Andre was hospitalized due to Covid-19 and shortly after, placed on a ventilator. Andre demonstrated his warrior spirit by fighting a long battle over a number of weeks. His spirit wasn’t ready to give up, which embodied Andre in every way. He had more jokes to tell, more stories to share, and more memories to make, especially with his baby girl or “twin” as they’d say. Sadly, on May 16th, he succumbed to the devastating virus ravishing the globe.
Andre will not have the opportunity to see his little girl attend prom, graduate high school or college, get married, or become the lawyer he once dreamed of.
In honor of such a wonderful man whose life was cut short, we want to keep his dream alive of seeing his daughter walk across the stage with her law degree & support those in need; just like her father did.
Andre’s loved ones have developed “A Dream Continued” scholarship towards his daughter’s education & in pursuit of living a fulfilling life without her own personal superhero. Andre was loved by so many and will be truly missed.
Any support or donation made in his honor will be greatly appreciated. Let’s get Tamia across that stage, together.
On behalf of the family, we would like to thank you for your love, prayers, support and contributions throughout this time. Thank you.
