My Yale Global Scholars Summer Fund

For those who do not necessarily know me, my name is Justin Wilton. I am a Junior at Michigan Math and Science Academy in Center Line, MI, and I have recently been accepted by the Yale Young Global Scholars Program to attend a summer program for outstanding high school students.

I have worked extremely hard to maintain a grade point average of 4.64 over my high school career and have been highly involved in academic activities and clubs, baseball, and helping others in many various ways. Whether it is through school programs, baseball, MDA Camp (Muscular Dystrophy Camp), or just community ties, I try to make my passion for people apparent by trying to brighten others day.

I am extremely excited to have been admitted to the Politics, Law, and Economics session of the Yale Young Global Scholars Program during the summer of 2017 because I am passionate about serving others. I am confident that this program will help me explore this academic interest and help me prepare for college, which will greatly help my future. This is very humbling for me, because students from all over the world attend this highly competitive program. I know that I would gain a great deal from both my studies and interactions with my peers. I want to continue to excel in my academics and encourage others to do the same in order to help others. I am so grateful for the opportunity to participate in this life changing experience.

My challenge is that I need to raise at least $1,500 to help with program costs, transportation, and additional expenses. Some close relatives and friends have donated to help me out, but I am still nowhere near my goal. Due to medical reasons in my family, we have never been able to afford many extra opportunities for my brother and I, and therefore without generous donors, it will be impossible for me to attend this unique event, despite working my entire education to qualify for it.

I am reaching out to ask for help. I need to raise an additional $1500, at least, by April 9. I am hoping that you will consider helping me with a donation. I have enclosed information about the Yale Young Global Scholars Program. I will contact you as soon as possible to answer any questions and discuss the possibility of your support. I will make the total payment online through my secure Yale Young Global Scholars Program account prior on the above due date.

I greatly appreciate all of your consideration. When I return from Yale, I plan to communicate with all of my supporters to share my experiences with them. This opportunity is very important to me, and I will be unexplainably grateful for anyone willing to help contribute to this cause, especailly because my family is unable to do so.
