My partner Heather has been suffering from a blocked and non functioning Kidney for over two years. In that time she has had life threatening sepsis, numerous infections, muscle wastage, and loss of vision in one eye.
Beforehand she was a very active individual who would walk long distances and was fit and healthy. Her non functioning Kidney changed all that.
Now she struggles to walk and keep her balance. She has lived with a tube coming out her back called a nephrostomy which negatively impacts on her self-esteem and ability to wear certain clothes.
Worst of all the clinicians say that the bacteria in her kidney are becoming very anti-biotic resistant. She urgently needs her kidney removed to prevent her health deteriorating further. NHS Grampian refuse to provide a surgery date for her essential operation.
To help raise funds for her to go private I'm going to do a sponsored walk. On the 20th of June I will walk 16 miles from Aberdeen to Inverurie. As someone with mobility issues herself this is a big challenge. One that I will gladly do to help my beautiful partner, whom I love to bits get the surgery she urgently needs.
Please donate what you can to sponsor me. Let's give Heather her life back!
