My Wife's Cancer and My Unemployment.

Hi all, my name is Joe T. My family and I have had nothing but bad things happen to us since January 3, 2022. My family consists of my loving wife, two beautiful daughters and five rescue dogs. The dogs have been a part of our family for eight years.
- On January 3, 2022, a tree fell on the rental home we were living in and forced us out of our home. Thankfully found an Airbnb to stay in until we figured out what to do.
- The house owner had given us no assistance in finding alternate housing, so we've been living temporarily in AirBNB and VRBO homes since January 3. This has cost us over $60,000.
- We had to find a house to buy since we had five rescue dogs, and it was hard to find rentals.
- We signed a contract in February for a new home and saw some light at the end of the tunnel.
- The lack of workers put the home to be completed sometime in September, so we looked for short-term rentals with no luck. We needed to continue living like gypsies in these AirBNB and VRBOs.
- ON AUGUST 9, 2022, I WAS TERMINATED FROM MY JOB WITHOUT CAUSE!
- We had to pull out of the new home since I no longer had a paycheck.
- ON SEPTEMBER 26, 2022, MY WIFE WAS DIAGNOSED WITH BREAST CANCER! We are working with a breast cancer specialist and are hopeful all will be well. Surgery will be in the next couple of weeks.
- Our dogs had been kenneled since January 3. We were just able to get them out of the kennel. The total cost of this was $17,000! Thankfully they are allowing us to make payments.
- We moved in with my Dad, but he can't have five dogs in his home, so we are back on the road living in an AirBNB. Thankfully they have AFFIRM for us to be able to pay.
- I just started receiving unemployment, $350/week. We have SNAP benefits for food and Medicaid.
This has been a humbling time, and I'm concerned about my wife's cancer and my unemployment. This has been playing games with my mental well-being. It took me four weeks to get the guts to start a GOFUNDME for my family.
I never thought I would need to ask for help from strangers. We don't know what the future holds, and I am getting worried. I've been interviewing with no takers, but I have my faith!
