My wife is donating part of her liver

My name is Ky, my wife's name is Amanda, and our good friend is very very sick.
My wife and I met while playing roller derby. She has always been a very loving and giving individual with a very strong moral compass. So when our friend Mandy went into liver failure, after battling congenital liver disease most of her life, Amanda didn't hesitate.
We're planning out her post surgery care. We set up a meal train. We are setting up a second bed that will be easier to get in and out of. Borrowing all sorts of mobility aids. Planning out her physical therapy. We have childcare for our twins all lined up for the first couple of weeks. We even have plans to stream ourselves playing The Last of Us to give us something fun to look forward to.
But the financial end has us a little concerned.
I'm the only paycheck that comes into the household since my wife is a stay-at-home mom and a homeschooler. I will need to take about a month off from work to care for her and the twins during her recovery.
The Paid Family Leave Act will cover most of our expenses, but not quite everything. Especially when you throw in the fact that I will need to take more time off later this year for my own surgery. So we're hoping to create a buffer to help us through the next month so we don't deplete our savings before my surgery this summer.
