My War Against Cancer Isn't Over

My name is Ally Paul. I'm a mom of 2 boys with my loving husband AJ.

My battle started in April of 2022, when I was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia at 22.5 weeks pregnant with my youngest (Lincoln). My battle was rough, Lincoln was born by emergency C-section at 28 weeks and spent a lot of time in hospital while I continued my treatments for Leukemia. My only hope was to have a Stem Cell Transplant (SCT) for long term survival. After a long battle of getting into remission I had my SCT in February 2023. By August 2023 my sick leave/ maternity leave had been exhausted and I did what I could to find some financial support through the government, unfortunately there was no help for me. This caused me to start back to work prematurely and against medical advice ( I work as an RMT and absolutely love what I do, so this wasn't too upsetting). Due to the recovery from the SCT I started extremely limited, short hours through the week as my energy could take years to return, but I also had to take care of my children.

I thought everything was going great. Life was turning back to something close to normal. Until I brought up a bump I had found on my hip to my Hematologist. We biopsied and found out that it was positive for Leukemia cells. As of right now that is the main problem, my other tests show that the leukemia hasn't fully relapsed but I am on an oral chemo with needles, regular blood testing again. Unfortunately this has put me in a situation where I am having to lose hours at work (I haven't gained enough hours for more sick leave), travel to appointments in a different city/eventually other provinces, be admitted into the hospital for treatments.

This is all becoming costly and I now can't get myself out of the debt hole that Cancer has shoved me into. So I am asking for help to cover the costs of traveling and keep up with my important bills as I will need to keep contact with my doctors through my phone, and expenses to help keep my kids' bellies full while I fight my newest battle. My battle isn't over yet and I could use all the help I can get so I can focus on my health and not what I can't pay.
