My Tour De 4 Fundraiser to Fight Cancer

Donation protected

I enjoy challenging myself within my sporting disciplines and when I saw this one, I knew I had to participate in some way.
I think that we all know someone who has been diagnosed with cancer and that sadly some have lost their challenge of fighting this devastating disease. So, with this in mind do please join me in making a small difference to fundraise for prostate cancer and help with the research that is currently happening and let’s also help with future developments.
My challenge is going to be a cycle ride in Scotland known as the 'Tour de 4th'. We will be setting off from the velodrome in Glasgow, a venue very dear to the mastermind of the challenge Sir Chris Hoy.
My story is that our dad in 1998 was diagnosed with a prostate issue and underwent an operation that thankfully proved to be benign. However, mum’s brother had a similar prostate issue in 2014, but his prognosis was not as positive as his diagnosis was that it was cancerous. Well, I can say he is still very much with us and just celebrated his 94th birthday and hopefully will be here for a few more years. I'm sure he'll be keen to hear how my fundraising is going and how my training is doing.
The routes are as you can well imagine going to be quite a challenging one the distances and secondly but more to the point with a good number of hills and so I will be having to do some serious training. I will be starting with some spinning classes to get the indoor training programme underway, and then looking to find some long steep hills, not only to get the legs fit, but also just to get my overall fitness up and especially the old ‘derriere/posterior – saddle’ prepared for the distance!
If you could therefore support me in this challenge by making any size of donation would be greatly appreciated. This will not only help motivate me with my training but then especially on the day itself.
I will keep you posted on my training, but until then I look forward to seeing my GoFundMe page make steady progress.
Thanking you all in anticipation.
