My Tour De 4 Fundraiser to Fight Cancer
Want to join me in supporting a good cause? I'm raising money for Target Ovarian Cancer and your contribution will make an impact, whether you donate a lot or a little. Anything helps. Thank you for your support.
A little bit about me.........I was diagnosed with stage 4 ovarian cancer in September 2022 at the age of 61. My cancer is not curable, but treatment since my diagnosis has kept it at bay enough for me to live a very good life, making memories with my family and friends. Fatigue and lack of stamina are a permanent effect of my cancer and treatment, but I'm committed to pushing myself to complete a 20 minute static bike challenge as part of Sir Chris Hoy's Tour de 4 cycle ride. I'll be doing this ride in the Sir Chis Hoy velodrome in Glasgow on Sunday 7th September. I aim to do two further 20 minute static bike challenges at home, so a 1hr cycle which should result in me cycling 30km in distance (approx). It will be tough for me, but I'm sure I can do it......with your help. If you can donate anything towards my fundraising attempt I would be so so grateful.
I've chosen to raise money for Target Ovarian Cancer to help them continue to research ways in which women can be diagnosed and treated earlier than they are at the moment. Sadly many women are diagnosed too late for their cancer to be cured. This has to change.
Each year 7,400 women (approx) are diagnosed with ovarian cancer in the UK and more awareness is needed to ensure women see their GP immediately if they have any symptoms, symptoms which are often mistaken for IBS (irritable bowel syndrome).
Thank you so much for reading my story and for your contribution. It can, and will make a difference.
