As some of you are aware I was diagnosed with breast cancer in Feb 2023, within 2 months of this and several rounds of chemo. I was informed the cancer had already spread to my liver and spine.

it was crushing to hear the words stage4/incurable breast cancer and to know my life would be limited. I am a mum to two amazing boys and I knew first hand how it felt to lose a parent to cancer at a young age.

Initially it felt like my life was over but with the support of my family, friends and medical team, I was able to see a way to continue living life and thriving.

It is two years since I received my stage 4 diagnosis and since then I have been determined to show people that there is still a chance at living even with this so when I saw this challenge and what Sir Chris Hoy was planning, I knew I had to be part of it.

Myself, my husband and our two boys are taking on the 1km circuit around the Sir Chris Hoy velodrome in Glasgow in September, I want to do as many circuits as I can as a personal challenge.

My fitness is probably the worst it has ever been but I have loved cycling and can’t wait to do this with my boys to raise money for Clan Cancer Support. Without them, we as a family would have never got through the last few years.

They provide support for all the family, along side holistic treatments and accommodation for people from Shetland, Orkney, and across the North East of Scotland who have to leave their homes and loved ones to receive treatment.
