My Tour De 4 Fundraiser to help The Christie Charity
On 7th September, I’m going to be doing the Chris Hoy Tour de 4 cycle sportive in Glasgow to raise funds for The Christie Charity.
Many of you will know that my wife, Giselle, has been undergoing treatment for Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma for many years. She has recently had her latest cycle of treatment at The Christie Hospital in Manchester in the form of CAR-T therapy. This is a ground-breaking cellular therapy which has used Giselle’s own generically modified T-cells to identify & kill cancer cells present in her body. We are still waiting confirmation of how successful this treatment has been & currently Giselle is currently back at The Christie having treatment for CAR-T side effects. She has a long recovery ahead of her and sadly, it is likely she will continue to need treatment at The Christie for the rest of her life.
We both live in hope along with all other families on their own cancer journeys that clinical trials and new treatments become available in the future to help beat all forms of cancers - this research is a critical part of the work done by The Christie on a daily basis.
We would be both be extremely grateful for any money you can spare for this fabulous cause and I would like to thank you all for all the support and kindness you have given to both of us so far.
