Hi everyone,

I’m taking on Sir Chris Hoy’s Tour de 4, a charity cycling event raising funds and awareness for people living with Stage 4 cancer. What makes this ride especially meaningful? It’s led by Sir Chris Hoy, yes, the Olympic legend , who is also facing Stage 4 prostate cancer himself.

Just a couple of years ago, I was fit, active, in the gym 4–5 times a week, and could knock out a 10k run in under an hour. I was living life to the full.

Then, at 49, I was diagnosed with prostate cancer.

At first, there was hope , surgery, radiotherapy, a plan to beat it. But within 12 months, everything changed: the cancer had spread. It was now incurable. Stage 4. Life changed in an instant.

While many brilliant charities are focused on finding cures and improving early detection, there’s another side to the story, supporting those already living with cancer. That’s where Maggie’s comes in.

There have been tough days. ...then, there have been really tough days!. Maggie’s has been an incredible lifeline, picking me up, giving me space to talk and helping me find my way back when I felt lost. I’m just one of the thousands they support every single day.

So I’m riding. Not just for me, but for everyone touched by this disease.
