Want to join me in supporting a good cause? I'm raising money for Prostate Cancer UK and your contribution will make an impact, whether you donate a lot or a little. Anything helps. Thank you for your support.
You will probably be aware of the devastating news that Chris Hoy announced last October revealing he has stage four i.e. terminal cancer. He showed no symptoms, the cancer only coming to light when he had a scan on a lump in his shoulder. The primary cancer was found in his prostate and had spread to his bones. At the end of 2024 I found myself in the same situation.
Despite the diagnosis, Chris has stated that his cancer is stable and that he is living life, not constantly dwelling on his health. I am trying to have the same approach, doing what I can, while I can. Chris has organised this Tour de 4 cycling event to raise awareness of prostate cancer that affects one in eight men.
Chris' vision is to bring together people who have been affected by cancer - whether directly or indirectly - to challenge perceptions, inspire hope and raise vital funds for cancer charities across the UK.
I have signed up for the 37 mile bike ride that 10 years ago would have been a 'ride in the park' but my cycling since retiring in 2014 has been almost non-existent. Please support my effort. It's not for me but for the potentially millions of men who will be affected by this horrid disease.
TIA
