I’m Cycling in the Tour de 4 with Sir Chris Hoy – In Support of Hamish Colgan
This September, I’m taking on the Tour de 4 – 90km of cycling, led by none other than Olympic legend Sir Chris Hoy.
While Sir Chris will no doubt be gliding effortlessly through the hills, I’ll be somewhere behind him: sweating, swearing, and wondering how long a person can survive on KitKat’s and stubbornness alone.
But this challenge isn’t really about the hills. It’s about raising money – and awareness – for Prostate Cancer UK, in honour of someone truly special.

In Support of Hamish Colgan
Earlier this year, Hamish was diagnosed with stage 4 prostate cancer. Since then, he’s faced every moment of treatment with incredible strength, humour, and resilience — the same spirit that defines everything he does.
A friend of 40 years and colleague of 20 years. He’s one of the most dedicated and determined people I’ve ever known and a daily inspiration in the way he’s fighting his diagnosis. He’s someone who lives with heart and purpose — whether it’s his unwavering love for football, his passion for Northern Soul, or the way he’s always shown up for those around him.
This ride is for him. For the courage he shows every single day. For the music, laughter, and loyalty he brings to every part of life. And for a future where men like Hamish don’t have to face this disease.
⸻
Why I’m Riding
Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men in the UK. 1 in 8 men will be diagnosed in their lifetime. Far too many are diagnosed too late.
So I’m pedalling through the pain for Prostate Cancer UK — to help fund ground-breaking research, life-saving treatments, and support services for men and their families.

How You Can Help
Please donate if you can. Whether it’s £5 or £50, every pound makes a difference.
If you can’t donate, a share, a kind word, or even just sending good vibes is always welcome.
This one’s for Hamish.
Thank you for standing with me — and with him
Keep the faith ✊
