I'm taking part because my family has been affected by various types of cancer through most of my life. My mother was diagnosed with breast cancer when she was 48, (I was 17) and subsequently she had multiple other cancers throughout her life. Recently my friend was diagnosed with prostate cancer and we were both going to Cycle Tour de 4, but unfortunately he had a stroke in January this year and so I am cycling on his behalf.
