My Tour De 4 Fundraiser to Fight Cancer
Natasha and Ted are riding the Tour de 4 (riding alongside Becky and Bill) in Glasgow raising money for Bowel Cancer UK.
The cause is close to home for a couple of reasons. Last year, Ted's step-dad Bill was diagnosed with Stage 3 Bowel Cancer but fortunately it was identified, treatment was successful and he is cancer free. This might not have been possible without pre-emptive medical screening (of any condition) and the amazing work of the oncology team at St James' Hospital in Leeds. Bill is an avid cyclist and is gradually getting miles back on the bike after surgery and chemotherapy, the ride will be his longest since treatment. We are riding the Blue Ride which is 37.9 miles.
Unfortunately, Sir Chris Hoy (who's fundraising charity sportif this is) was not so lucky when he was diagnosed with Stage 4 Bowel Cancer which later became a terminal diagnosis. Chris' dream is to get as many people as possible living with Stage 4 cancer, as well as their friends and families, to participate to whatever extent they can manage, raising money for the cancer charities that mean the most to them.
Please donate or share to spread the word and support people with Stage 4 Cancer.
Funds will be managed by GoFundMe.org.uk and granted to UK Cancer Charities chosen by Sir Chris. Sir Chris has chosen 5 charities as beneficiaries of all funds raised here: Breast Cancer Now, Cancer Research UK, MacMillan, Maggies and Prostate Cancer UK.
