My Tour De 4 Fundraiser to Fight Cancer

Following the inspiring journey of Sir Chris Hoy, I’ve decided to take part in the Tour De 4 challenge on the 7th September to raise funds in the fight against cancer.

This cause is close to my heart having lost loved ones to cancer, I've also seen the impact on friends and colleagues who have suffered as a result of cancer diagnosis involving them or their loved ones, and my Dad is currently battling Prostate Cancer.

Scottish Widows, where I work, has partnered with Macmillan since 2023 and I am proud to have the opportunity to make a difference and represent the partnership. Therefore when the opportunity came along for me to take part in this challenge and raise much needed funds for MacMillan I quickly agreed to sign up.

I'm not sure in hindsight how sensible it was for me to opt for the most challenging event available which is a 90km (56 miles) with elevation of over 3700ft. I say that as for the last few years I've not been near a Bicycle or done any form of regular exercise, unfortunately the same can't be said of the local chip shop where I'm on first name terms with the staff.

If you could kindly sponsor me and help me to raise as much money as possible for MacMillan, and enable them to carry on the great work they do, it would be very much appreciated. Knowing that they will get the benefit of a sizable chunk of funds from me putting myself through this challenge, will give me the extra motivation I need to stay away from the chippy & train regularly in order that I make it round and complete the event in one piece.
