Cherry's Tour de 4 2026 Fundraiser to Fight Cancer

Paul and Emily Cherry are taking part in Tour de 4 2026, the cycling event launched by Sir Chris Hoy following his Stage 4 cancer diagnosis. It brings together people living with Stage 4 cancer, alongside friends, families and supporters, to ride side by side and raise vital funds.

Prostate cancer has affected our family hugely. Both our Fathers, Ron and Richard over the last decade. Two very different stories, Richard with early diagnosis and doing well after radiotherapy and hormone treatment. Ron diagnosed late, but bravely battled for twelve years never let cancer diagnosis beat him until 2025 fighting to the end. Maggies was so helpful after we lost Ron to our family supporting Paul and helping him manage the grief and pain of end of life care in our family home.

Every pedal will remind us of the battle so many men face.

Paul gets his test annually now, and we'll make sure George does too. But these tests are not yet routine and we have paid, but we urgently need a robust prostate screening programme.

This is going to be a challenge for us both, as both our health has suffered the last year - Paul has barely been able to exercise due to ongoing back issues, and menopause & waiting for operations to remove large fibroids means I live in constant pain - but cycling does help.

The event is about showing that a diagnosis does not define a person, and highlighting what life with Stage 4 cancer can look like: strength, resilience and determination.

All funds raised will go to charities supporting people affected by Stage 4 cancer. If you’re able to donate or share, I’d be incredibly grateful. Every contribution helps provide vital support and care.
