My Tour de 4 2026 Fundraiser to Fight Cancer

I’m taking part in Tour de 4 2026, the cycling event launched by Sir Chris Hoy following his Stage 4 cancer diagnosis. It brings together people living with Stage 4 cancer, alongside friends, families and supporters, to ride side by side and raise vital funds.

With you all the way my husband and soulmate Jim. Instead of spending retirement running and walking in your beloved hills we are now on a different journey altogether.

Married in 2014, diagnosed out of the blue in April 2024 with Stage 4 Prostate Cancer, complicated by a diagnosis of heart failure the year before. Both conditions are ‘terminal’. Life expectancy beyond 5 years for the cancer alone is 30%.

My chosen charity is St Columba’s hospice as hospices are often a crucial part of managing terminal illness and provide essential care for thousands of people. In Scotland the hospice sector is facing a critical deficit with rising demand and financial squeeze and is in crisis.

If you feel able or willing to support my fund raising and cycling efforts I would be incredibly grateful.
Thank you!

NB: I’m doing the Blue Ride which is 37 miles. It begins and ends at the Sir Chris Hoy velodrome in Glasgow.

The event is about showing that a diagnosis does not define a person, and highlighting what life with Stage 4 cancer can look like: strength, resilience and determination.
