My Summer at Stanford University

Hello Everyone!
I am a freshman at Porter Early College High School, in Brownsville, TX. This HS is located in an area of Brownsville where 99% of the population are economically disadvantaged. I was always taught to seize the opportunityand try to take advantage of everything that comes my way. I received an invitation to attend a 2 week intensive La and Trial Program at Stanford University. Wow! What a fantastic opportunity.
The program begins on July 5 and concludes on July 15 where each day will cover a different topic. For instance: one day I will learn how to cross examine a witness and on another day I will learn how to prepare opening and closing arguements. I am a smart student, enrolled in Dual enrollment classes and I am proud to say I am a Duke University Scholar. I am very active in helping my community and fundraising for our schools basketball team.
I come to you all asking for your support/sponsorship so that I may be able to pay the tuition, books, meals and flight to this program. The program in itself costs $5,000 plus my roundtrip airfare, approximately $1,100.
Being able to attend this program will be one step toward my goal of one day becoming an attorney. When I come back from this program, I will share with all the donors of the success of the program and what I learned. At the same time, if you know me and if you need anything, I will bemore then willing to help in exchange for your generous donation. Thank you for your consideration.
