I was accepted to the Green Program to study abroad in Reykjavik, Iceland to go in-depth into the topics of Sustainability and Renewable energy. Please only donate what you can afford to lose and I promise each donate will receive my sincerest thanks and a handwritten thank you note.
My trip will be from March 8-15th of 2020. Why Iceland, you may be asking? Well, Iceland is one of, if not the only, country that is run on 100% renewables. This fact, complemented with getting to visit some of these facilities, makes this a wonderful hands-on experience where I will get to see how these facilities work with my own eyes and meet the people who work on them every day. Not only that, but I also have the pleasure of taking a class at Reykjavik University which will be an overview of all the forms of renewable energy that the country runs on. Included in this will be a capstone project that I, and some peers in the project, will work on.
On top of all this, I have the absolute pleasure to visit some of the most picturesque areas of Iceland, including Eyjafjallajökull Volcano which is considered to be the most famous volcano in the world! I also get to try as much local cuisine as I can get my hands on and soak up as much culture as my brain and body will allow!
I am so lucky to be offered this opportunity and I appreciate each and every one of you who can donate. Thank you so much!
Love, Otis.
