Hello Everyone,

My name is Carl Bowens and have created this GoFundMe in hopes of financial assistance during this long journey to recovery both via Radiation plus Chemotherapy and Holistically through Herbalism.

Let me track back to the beginning of my diagnosis:

1. In mid March of 2021, I woke up to heaving and gasping of breath that wasn't my normal Asthma attack. After being rushed to the hospital, it was confirmed that my Right lung had completely collapsed and couldn't have it repaired until I was strong enough to have the hole sealed. I was wheezing internally and eventually received the surgery. The first attempt was a failure as my lung partially filled and then deflated again so after more testing there was another surgery in which thankfully was successful. Because of this, I was out of work until 06/2021.

2. In October of 2021 during a follow up, my Dr. ran some normal testing to see how my lungs were healing leading to some alerting captures of my heart. I had additional testing in which upon completion and review lead to a diagnosis of stage 1 COPD(Chronic Obstruction Pulmonary Disease).

**So, now there was a link to why my lung collapsed**

3. In December of 2021, I had another appointment following my COPD diagnosis. My Dr. suggested that I have my larynx "voice box" scraped due to seeing some scar tissue after I explained how my voice had changed about 10 years ago and thought nothing of it since being in customer service for over 30 years. My voice box was scraped and biopsied and the following week, my life changed after receiving a Stage 1 possible 2 cancer diagnosis in my throat.

4. After my Scans and X-Rays were transferred to Roswell Institute and further testing was completed, it was concluded that I have Stage 3 Squamous cell Laryngeal carcinoma as well as the attached Lymph Nodes of the throat.

I will be undergoing both Radiation/chemotherapy 5 days a week for 7 weeks to help remove the cancer but am also accruing a Holistic approach with Radical Herbalism Therapy. I'll be working with Shauntel Douglas to assist me with this also while undergoing treatment.

I will be out of work for some time but will need prayer warriors to assist along with monetary donations of whatever you can give to keep me abreast with medical bills, housing and my Herbalism treatment.

I know that I can beat this and will. I also thank you all from my whole heart for hearing my story and hope that you all are able to help me through my journey to becoming cancer free.
