My life changed completely because of a medical mistake, and today I am asking for help so I can have a chance to live a normal life again with my children.
About a year and a half ago, I had surgery to remove a tumor. Two weeks later, part of my intestines came out of my abdomen. Within one month, I went through 12 surgeries just to save my life.
During one of these operations, a medical error damaged my intestines. For six months, I couldn’t eat or drink and survived only on IV nutrition.
Although another surgery later closed the hole in my intestines, the wound in my abdomen never healed. My intestines are now stuck to my skin, I have no abdominal muscles, and the wound bleeds frequently. Even drinking water has become frightening.
A specialist doctor confirmed that this wound will never heal on its own. I have an infected mesh inside my abdomen, and the infection has reached my liver. If it is not removed, it may become chronic and turn into cancer.
The safest solution is a laparoscopic surgery to remove the mesh and infection, but it can only be done in a private hospital. Public hospital surgery would be extremely dangerous and could leave me dependent on IV nutrition for life.
I have endured 68 surgeries and never gave up. I keep fighting for my children and for life.
The hospital responsible for the medical mistake agreed to cover part of the cost, but I must pay the remaining amount. Because both my husband and I are retired due to illness, we are unable to afford it alone.
That is why we started this donation campaign.
Any support, whether by donating or sharing my story, means more than words can express. Your kindness could help me heal, smile again, and return to a life where I can care for my children.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart
