My Son's Journey: From Crash to College
Donation protected
I received a call from my son at 11:30 pm last night that he hit a moose on I-95 SB and totaled his pickup. One of my worst nightmares is getting a call in the middle of the night but never hearing his voice and ending in complete tragedy. I thank the Lord it didn’t go that way, and for that, I am grateful. But my heart breaks in a different way for him.
You see, he’s 18 and works 2, sometimes 3 jobs, to have the things that he has. He paid cash for this pickup. He worked countless overtime hours and sometimes all night long to fix this pickup. Thousands and thousands of dollars... gone... just like that. He’s also been saving for college, and he leaves 8/19 for Orlando, Florida, so that he can better himself in the business that he’s created. The work and determination that this kid has is like no other. He doesn’t get hand-me-downs, and he takes care of his things because HE is the one that works for them.
I’m not sure what he’ll do. If he will just continue to work his butt off to get it fixed or use his college funds, which breaks my heart even more. He needs a vehicle to work. So, I’m asking for help. He may get mad at me, but at this point, I don't care. At any moment, he’d put everything down to help anyone. I’m not the type to ask people for money, but if we could all put together some money to help this kid out, I’d be forever grateful.
