My Son Lost Everything in a Fire. Please Help Him Start Over
Donation protected
I never imagined I would be writing this. A few nights ago, my son’s home burned to the ground. He had no insurance. He was left with only the clothes on his back. Everything else was lost.
My son is the kind of man any mother would be proud of. He lives a quiet, simple life in the country. He finds peace in the woods, where he hunts, fishes, and watches the seasons change. He has never needed much. Just a roof, a warm fire, and the sound of the wind through the trees. All of it is gone now.
When he was little, he used to come home with muddy boots and pockets full of little critters, rocks, and things he found in the woods. That sweet, gentle boy is still in him. He has always seen the good in people and never turns anyone away.
He would never ask for help. He is the kind of man who would give away his last dollar without saying a word. That is why I am asking for him. As his mother, I have to try.
His father worked as a prison guard and taught him to stand tall. I taught him to see beauty in small things. But there is nothing beautiful about what he is facing right now. The fire took everything. His bed. The hunting gear he saved up for, all his tools, his family pictures, even some family heirlooms.
We are trying to help him start over. He needs the basics. A place to sleep. Warm clothes. Simple things most of us take for granted. If you are a mother, you understand. No matter how old they get, they are still your child. And when they are hurting, it hurts you too.
Please, if you can, help my son. Any donation, no matter how small, helps. If you cannot give, please share this with others.
Thank you for reading this. From one mother’s heart to another.
