My Son End of Life

Hi my name is Uzma and with a heavy heart I have today after quite some time built courage to write this up! (Copied from a hospital letter written by my son's cancer nurse to be sent to my younger son's college teacher)

I am not good with words hence I copied what my son’s cancer nurse put in writing for the college.

My son who is 20 years of age turning 21 this weekend was initially diagnosed with cancer in 2022 had Synovial cell sarcoma to the left calf and spindle cell sarcoma (soft tissue cancer and joint cancer) in March 2022, he underwent first line treatment with chemotherapy followed by a surgical amputation in February 2023 losing his left leg due to cancer. Unfortunately my son relapsed with lung metastasis identified in August 2023. To this end he commenced on further chemotherapy, following his first cycle of treatment, my son experienced life threatening complications and with an incurable cancer diagnosis his life expectancy is expected to be less than 12 months, and maybe considerably shorter than this. Understandably at this time my son has been supported by myself and his young brother who is 17 years of age.

As I am self employed I am not able to work I have already taken off 2 months off work as my son had to have 2 emergency surgeries over two days in October (artery broke and flooded the left lung) left lung is now collapsed second surgery has been carried out to drain the blood out of the lung. Unfortunately surgery will not be carried out to remove lung as my son isn't allowed general anesthetic as he won't wake up after surgery even with ventilators.

I would like to spend as much time as I can with my son, we spend alot of time travelling to and from hospitals to appointments etc. I would be grateful if you can fund me so I can get help with payimg my monthly mortgage bills, Gas, electricity, water bill fuel, travel costs, shopping etc.
