For those who are acquainted with Brandon, they know him as a lively, affectionate, and compassionate individual. Even if you haven't had the pleasure of meeting him in person, a glimpse at his pictures or a brief anecdote would quickly make you realize the truth of these qualities.
However, life has taken an unexpected turn for Brandon. In May of this year, a concerned coworker urged him to have a small lump on his neck examined, just to err on the side of caution. Little did he know that this seemingly harmless lump would lead to a devastating diagnosis. After multiple visits to the doctor and undergoing biopsies, Brandon now finds himself amid a battle against Stage 3 Salivary Gland Cancer, an adversary that requires immense strength to confront. The treatment for this entails undergoing radiation five days a week for a grueling six-week period at the University.
As if fighting cancer wasn't enough, Brandon received more distressing news shortly before his treatment was scheduled to commence. It was revealed that he also has Cholesteatoma in his other ear, which will necessitate two additional surgeries following the radiation. Neglecting these surgeries would pose the risk of developing meningitis due to the tumor.
This unforeseen journey has brought forth a multitude of unanticipated and arduous challenges for Brandon. One of the most pressing obstacles is the financial strain. Initially, he was informed that he would be able to continue working during his radiation treatment while utilizing FMLA. However, the day before radiation was set to begin, he received the devastating news that he would have to take a complete leave of absence from work and only receive 60% of his income. This means that Brandon is now expected to be out of work until February.
Any form of assistance would be greatly appreciated. It is crucial to acknowledge that Brandon deeply values and is grateful for all the support he has received, even if he hasn't been able to personally respond due to feeling overwhelmed at the moment. Every contribution, regardless of its size, will directly impact Brandon's journey. Your generous donations will help alleviate the financial burden of additional treatments, medical bills, and time away from work. If you are currently unable to contribute to Brandon's medical fund, please consider sharing this fundraiser and continuing to provide healing energy, well wishes, and prayers. Brandon and his family are in dire need of and greatly appreciate all the ongoing support they can receive.
