My name’s Josh, and I’m writing this on behalf of my sister, Rachel. Her fur baby, Sloopy, has been part of her/our family for 15 years. She’s a rescue - some strange mix of mutt with wild eyebrows, crazy hair, and a really big heart. And she’s everything to Rachel. More than a pet. More than “just a dog.” Sloopy is Rachel’s kid. A few weeks ago, we got the news: Sloop has leukemia. It’s the kind of diagnosis that takes the air out of the room. But there is a path forward. It hasn't been easy and it wont ever get easy. It’s certainly not guaranteed. But Sloopy has a shot - with treatment. Rachel’s facing a stack of bills already: chemo, blood transfusions, vet visits, medications. And we know this is just the beginning. She’s committed to giving Sloopy every chance to fight this, no matter what but the costs are more than she can carry alone. We know this will put her in a hole if we don't help financially. That’s why I’m asking. Every dollar raised will go straight to Sloopy’s medical care. No extras. No stretch goals. Just trying to give my sister’s dog - the one who’s been by her side through breakups, job losses, life changes - the shot she deserves. We're not doing this at my sisters direction. she wouldn’t write this herself. She’s proud and honestly to shook at the moment. But I know how much she’s hurting. And I know how much this would mean. If you can give, thank you. If you can share, thank you. If you’ve ever loved an animal like family, you already get it. We’re just trying to keep hope alive a little longer. — Josh
