Help Charity’s family get a Wheelchair Van

Donation protected

On October 30, my sister’s husband died suddenly. Having been two months since her husband’s passing, Charity and her family continue to face financial challenges. Charity is too young to receive her husband’s benefits and it will take time for her disabled son to receive benefits. She urgently needs a bridge to fill the gap so that she can meet monthly expenses. Please consider donating and if you can’t please share. Thank you for your kindness.

Before adopting their two children, Fred and Charity Trimier were foster parents. They received a call about a 9 year old boy with cerebral palsy who was nonverbal, failed to thrive, malnourished and had never been to school. Fred and Charity agreed to take him in and went to Hugh Spaulding Children’s Hospital to meet him. As they began to bond with Eric, he responded to them by saying ready to go home. The staff told them that he hadn’t said a word in the two weeks at the hospital before he talked to them. It was an instant connection.

Fred and Charity bought a stroller so they could take him home. He didn’t even have a wheelchair. After the Trimiers had several corrective procedures done to improve Eric’s quality of life, he was enrolled in school for the first time in the third grade. Although they inquired about therapy to help him walk after surgically correcting his dislocated legs, they learned that the neglect had prevented the typical surgery at 5 years old to aid in walking so Eric would never walk but he got his first wheelchair. Eric grew confident that he would be fed and cared for regularly and soon began to thrive. He grew very rapidly and is now a well adjusted 21 year old young man. He can spell his name, count to 100, and knows his colors and shapes. Now that Fred passed away suddenly and is no longer here to lift him into the SUV and then lift the wheelchair, Charity and Eric is in need of a wheelchair van. Please consider donating or sharing this message to improve their quality of life. Thank you for your thoughtful support.
