My Sister Kelly's New Life

Hi.. I'm Jessica and I have created this for my big sister Kelly...my sister and I have had the odds stacked against us throughout most of our lives. We came from a family riddled with addiction and have fought hard to do better and be better throughout our lives, I myself have been sober since 2010! In 2015 my sister was a victim of Domestic Violence and lost custody of her daughter, I became my nieces guardian in July 2015. My sister was overcome with depression and anxiety and struggled with what was going on, unlike anything I had seen before she fell further and further into the throws of hardcore active addition...and has been homeless since our mother passed away in March of 2019. I have prayed countless nights for my sister to wake up, get clean and be in my life and her children's lives. We have no family in the area, and very little family other than Florida. My prayers got answered in December 2020, when my sister was sent to jail. A true blessing in disguise. She has remained clean, taken classes and is getting out of jail on early release due to 'good behavior' the end of this month...May 28th.

I created this because I am asking for the funds to pay for her first month living in a recovery house/halfway house in Melbourne, FL. She has 5 months clean for the first time in a VERY long time and has a real chance at life again. A chance to become a successful member of society, a chance to be a mother, a chance to be a sister, a chance to be happy and thrive once more.

Over the years of being homeless she lost every single personal possession she ever owned. So I am also kindly requesting fund for a few clothing outfits and toiletries to get her started.

She is eager to restart and is excited for her new lease on life and plans to actively seek employment immediately upon release. Gain custody of her children and be the person she truly wants to be. A person I believe she can be, with some help in the beginning. She doesn't want to be 'just another statistic' and I don't want her to be either.

Moving into a recovery/halfway house will keep her off the streets, as there are no family members or clean & sober friends houses to stay at temporarily. Living in a recovery house will offer the crucial stability and routine needed in early recovery.

A woman once broken down by life circumstance and poor choices, who lost her will to live at one point... Is now growing to understand her worth, to worth to her daughter, her remaining family and the world.

I'm asking for funds to take a chance on someone who now wants to live, instead of living the life of walking zombie drug addict. I believe in her and I'm asking you to believe in my big sister too.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read this.
