My Sister Jade Walker

Update: I just wanted to thank everyone who donated so far. Seeing God's love work through each and everyone of you has uplifted my family in ways I didn't think was possible. When I originally created this go fund me I didn't realize the expenses involved in arranging a funeral. I have increased the amount in hopes that we can cover the remaining balance we were not able to cover ourselves. Any excess raised will go to my parents as they now will be raising my sister's daughter.

Hi, my name is Scarlett. I am the sister of Jade Walker. Jade was such a caring person and loved her family, and we loved her SO SO much, which makes this time for our family incredibly difficult in many ways. We have experienced a lot of loss these past few years. If we had an empty pool in front of us, we would have filled it up twice over by now with our tears. Jade passed away on Wednesday night at a patient's house at the age of 34, leaving behind her 16-year-old daughter and her entire family. Over the past several years, she has been pushing herself to finish nursing school. Today, Friday, October 13th, would have been her last exam for nursing school. We had planned to celebrate her accomplishments and pinning ceremony on November 9th. Our family has a history of epilepsy, which makes life incredibly challenging at times. If you know our family history, you know that epilepsy has caused us a lot of suffering. Jade was under a great deal of stress trying to push herself through school, and with being stressed and tired, this caused her to have a massive seizure, which ultimately took her life. Unfortunately, because of the lack of flexibility during clinicals, which is a requirement for school, her employer was not willing to work with her school schedule. This left her with the tough decision to leave her job and benefits in order to finish school. During her employment, she had life insurance, but she had to make the tough decision to put her school first to have a better future for her and her daughter. This lack of financial support has caused a lot of stress on our family, and we need all the support we can get right now to get through this.
