Hello everyone. My name is Olivia Hall from Hemet, California. My sister Jacqueline Walker (Currie) is fighting for her life to start over in Alaska. For years, she endured severe domestic violence, extreme poverty, isolation & trauma that no human being should ever experience. She survived physical abuse so brutal that her ribs were broken & her lungs punctured. She was hospitalized multiple times. She lived in fear while trying to protect her three daughters.
Despite everything, she kept going.
She is a survivor of severe domestic violence, trauma, addiction in the home, poverty & years of abuse that nearly killed her.
My sister is also a United States Coast Guard Veteran who served honorably after joining in 2007. Before the abuse took over her life, she was a loving mother, a softball player at West Valley Highschool & someone who loved cooking for her family & making people feel cared for.
Years of abuse changed everything.
She was controlled in every aspect of her life. She was not allowed to work, to grocery shop for her children, had no access to money, no bank account, no card, no stability, her phone was monitored & she had no support system nearby. The home environment became dangerous & chaotic due to violence, addiction, alcoholism & repeated trauma.
Recently, after another devastating chapter of abuse, she escaped but lost everything. She was forced into a women’s shelter with nothing but the clothes on her back. No car. No savings. No food. No identification documents like a Birth Certificate or Social Security Card. No basic necessities. Some Family from the lower 48 sent her clothing and essentials just so she could survive day to day.
Now, she is trying to rebuild from absolutely nothing. With help from domestic violence & VA resources, she was finally able to get a small apartment & minimum wage job. The apartment is in a dangerous area and barely livable, but it is still the first step toward safety & independence.
She is battling severe trauma, PTSD, depression, anxiety, insomnia, and other mental health issues & struggles while trying to rebuild her life - completely alone. This is also the first time she’s been prescribed proper medication that was previously denied as a form of abuse.
But she hasn’t given up!!!
This fundraiser is to help her:
• Secure safe housing
• Obtain transportation
• Replace basic necessities
• Pay for food & utilities
• Get medical & mental health care
• Obtain legal documents & identification
• Help with Lawyer fees
• Continue rebuilding stability so she can work toward reunification with her daughters
Most importantly, this is about giving her a real chance to heal & finally live without fear.
If you can donate, share, or simply pray for her - our family would be deeply grateful. Every single dollar helps give her another step toward safety & stability.
She’s not just a victim. She’s a survivor. And
now she deserves the opportunity to thrive.
