My sister had a devastating fall and needs help.

Hi from Chris. I’m Sharon’s sister and I need to ask for help on her behalf. On Sunday evening March 26th, my sister had a devastating fall as she walked her dog.The fall left her with a head injury and a broken left arm and shoulder which will most likely need to be replaced. The orthopedic surgeon will determine that at her appointment this Tuesday.

We have started the process for financial assistance and all that goes with it but we don’t know what my sister will be eligible for and it’s a process which will take a few weeks or longer before she gets any assistance.

She will be out of work for about five months between the recovery and physical therapy.

Sharon has rent, utilities and basic expenses such as groceries for herself and for Hazey, her sweet Shih Tzu. She did not want to ask for help especially in such a public way. But she knows the hardship she is facing financially and it’s just too much and overwhelming when coupled with the physical challenges now and once she has the surgery.

I am not in the position to help cover expenses. What I’ve been able to do is get to her apartment each morning before I go to work, walk Hazey and feed them both. After work I do the same. She is grateful to have friends and neighbors who have stopped in to check on her and walk Hazey during the day.

If you can assist by a donation or a gift card to Wawa or Giant we’d be grateful. I’ve been getting her a sandwich from Wawa each morning so she can feed herself without much trouble and it usually suffices for two meals. Giant would help for groceries and dog food. The day after the surgery I was able to get enough food for about a week for Hazey and I’ve been sharing the meals I cook for my daughter and me. If you can’t donate, please pray for this awful situation to resolve with the least amount of trouble possible. I have lived through this type of injury and it took a toll on me in many ways. I feel terrible for Sharon because I understand the deep pain but also the fear and the struggle.
