My Senior Mother is Homeless

Almost 8 months ago my adoptive mother / biological grandmother was served an eviction notice. Not due to unpaid rent but because the homeowner who lives in Florida felt like reclaiming her house after nearly 7 years. Just over 2 weeks ago we had her final court date and the Judge quickly ordered my 74 year old mother be off the property within exactly two weeks by 1/14/22.

Currently we need to cover costs for her weekly to monthly rate hotel. Elderly housing in this area is non existent, I am aware we may be able to find her a room to rent but the challenge is that she can only handle so many stairs and safety and comfortability is a concern for her as well as a priority for my young son who cares deeply for his great grandmother and needs to spend time with her while he can.
It has been really hard on him as she had lived in the house she was abruptly removed from nearly his entire life, he is doing well but this is not easy for him.

Please help me help my mother transition to a new home. Please consider helping my family in this incredibly difficult time. We have been through so much honestly the last 18 years at least. It’s all connected to us losing my father and the house I grew up in after he passed. My mother and I both work extremely hard, she only just stopped working after getting COV last year, has been unable to work since, but still owns and operates our family business— the Bar my father built and worked in until he couldn’t anymore. She is actually considering working part time to help cover her hotel costs. With all expenses included the hotel monthly isn’t outrageously far from what she was paying for rent and utilities and I am prepared to do what ever I need to do to cover costs but this is not our only expense.

Because we own a business and property those taxes are also due. I have a 3rd floor lease I insisted my mom stay with me but she physically can’t, We actually finally have a chance at a lease for mid March at a really nice place with a reasonable down payment but we all know it is still a lot, everything I just mentioned is thousands of dollars. I am prepared to cover it but I owe on my own bills as well that aren’t getting paid because of moving expenses and this current situation. Nearly 100% of our earnings goes to directly to expenses.
I was able to connect her with a case worker to help with small things like food but up until now we still have never received any type of assistance, neither of us. Just to say that we have been doing our best with what we have, and I know that we have a lot and are truly blessed, but honestly we need help. Anything would help. Whether it’s a prayer, a thought, time and energy to share this with someone who maybe can help if you can’t, $1 or $10 that’s still covering something I promise.

since the first week of June, 2021 I have tried consistently to find her immediate housing. I tried to qualify us for a mortgage to get her a trailer she would be comfortable in. I applied on her behalf for units available for the past 6 months. I know we are not alone in our struggle & discomfort we are living in very trying times and I have remained hopeful but have been tested entirely to my limits. I am a 27 year old single mother who works with children with disabilities and that alone has become very difficult for me to balance with my personal responsibilities, not because of the children but because of the management of the company and the lack of employee support. I am working on getting a family/medical leave but I have to apply through the state because I cannot afford to go unpaid..

Thank you kindly for your time prayers and contributions or if you are unable to give please consider sharing with anyone who maybe can

I have always hoped to be able to do well enough that I can give my time and resources to support others. I am continuing to pray for you in return and hopeful that this chapter will be closed soon and a new, brighter one will follow.
