My rock needs our help

It all started with a routine check up. One my mom had been bugging him for months to get. The phone call that changed our world.

Ever since I can remember this man has always been there for me. Never a dull moment with him. The bread winner of our family and the one who held everything together.

I call him Doug, he is my stepfather. The solid rock in which us kids could ALWAYS stand on.

We are saddened to hear that after all the testing and appointments he will need to have quadruple bypass surgery. He cannot be active, he cannot drive and therefore he cannot work.

On June 15 he will undergo this nerve racking surgery.

After already having been out of work for 2 months, my stepfather will still not be able to work until at least October. There is no opportunity for him to collect any EI or benefits as he works for his own business. My mother has picked up a few side jobs here and there to help but it's still not enough. The bills are piling up.

I want to help. He has always been there for me when I needed it and now is my chance.

So please open your hearts and help me give back to my stepfather.
