My Road to Worlds!

In 2018, I made a documentary about my battle with depression. I spent the majority of my 20s trying to get happy to which I succeeded, and recorded the process. This short was accepted into the London International Short Film Festival.

Fight or Flight - My Journey With Depression

Five years later, in a healthier and happier state of mind I have decided create another documentary. I want to take jiujitsu to unchartered global territories, creating a safe space for other woman to grow, learn and fight.

But I can't do this off the bat. There is a ladder I need to climb, to position myself more advantagiously to execute this project succeessfully.

£5000 covers myself and my cameraman to embark on the journey to the World Championships in Las Vegas documenting the run up and completion of it. This is the beginning of the story, this current mission is the Road to Worlds, but it's actually a big piece of this puzzle and the beginning of the documented story.

Anything below £4000 will be just myself going on the trip. The money going towards National and International flights, competition entry, accomodation, car hire and food.

I have succeeded in many projects I have passionately applied myself to, and as a result I have been applauded and validated by onlookers for my accomplishments.

But in reality, as a Iranian girl who 'fights', it feels very trivial and selfish to then end my successful day climbing into my warm bad, in my nice flat, in a safe city to sleep peacefully.

I am not the real Iranian fighter but I can use my position, privaledged and platform to aid actualy female Iranian fighters.

What is the point of these accomplishments if I can't create a safe and educational space that helps REAL Persian female heros?! Woman competing to live another day, not to simply win a shiny medal.

I got lucky, my mum escaped the revolution so I wasn't raised into a war stricken Iran. If I can use my privilege to help my Persian sisters, this is what my life's purpose is.

THIS is what your money is going towards! I need various titles to put me in a more advantagous positions in the run up to this project. Documenting each step and showing the progress of this mission. My's who's, Why's and How's.
