This is long so please forgive me.
The only car I have that is big enough to haul the dogs to the vet incase of emergency has had a catastrophic transmission failure.
My husband sold his motorcycle to to fix it when the motor blew up and sacrificed his happiness so we'd have a car for the dogs.
It was fine a few weeks but then the car started shuddering and it turns out the transmission [over 220K miles] is just done.
We had to use our emergency car, a PT Loser while it was being looked over and *it* had a weird "whomp" noise while driving.
So I checked the air in the tires and found a huge BLISTER on the rear tire, just like the one that blew out a year ago.
Turns out the tires were part of Cooper tires recall years ago where the belts separated and killed people in accidents.
[no longer covered under warranty, naturally...they're like 8 years old]
So the last bit of "dog money" we had went to 2 new tires so I wouldn't crash.
A friend tried to fix the "dog hauling car" but it was WAY beyond what he thought it might be and now the transmission needs replaced.
I have found two transmissions, used, 2 hours away but just have literally NO money at all for even a down payment to hold one.
A new transmission is OUT of the question, at $3000 at best
We have nothing left to sell, as everything has gone to caring for dogs in the last two years [Djinni's illness and death last September] and Gypsy's tooth emergency and subsequent "post op" pneumonia.
Plus, we're still making payments on Lenny's broken hip and heart attacks because a portion that was not covered by insurance.
I can haul Gypsy in the PT Loser because she is small but I have to nearly fold the Dobes in half to stuff them in the puny backseat and there's no room for the dog guard to keep them from flying through the windshield and even the "dog hammock" doesn't work.
It's just a really awful and tiny backseat.
Forgive me for begging AGAIN but I NEED something to get the dogs to the vet, in case of an emergency [God forbid!].
At this point, I dread Fridays because it's ALWAYS Fridays when they have emergencies and weekends inn general are something I have to fret over and survive, because of them.
I'm even afraid to let them outside to play, lest they get hurt somehow.
I'm at the end of my rope and worry and dread is my constant state of being, now.
Please, if you can find it in your heart to give a little towards fixing my Dog Hauling Car, I would be so grateful and ask God to bless you a million fold.
I am so ashamed to ask but his home business crashed since the hip/heart attacks and he can barely get around, let alone work in the shop anymore.

If it weren't for my dogs, I would just drive the junk 223K mile old Cruiser and not care so much.
