Update: Help Riley with her amputation

Donation protected
This is Riley. As many of you already know, she’s a six-year-old yellow lab who is the sweetest, most gentle girl you’ve ever met. When she is excited (which is any time you give her attention), she actually smiles and snorts like a pig. Sadly, the time has come for me to schedule that life-altering leg amputation.
On July 4th, my dad noticed a lump on her hind foot, and we learned it was a soft tissue sarcoma. Riley had the tumor removed in August, and we sent to pathology. It was supposed to be a slow growing tumor, and I thought Riley would have more time being a 4-legged dog. But after only 3 months, the tumor is growing back quickly and we have 2 areas of tumor on her hock joint now—one the size of a ping pong ball and the other the size of a grape. This means that Riley will become a tripod sooner than later. I don’t think Riley is in too much pain, but she can’t run around with Rocky like she used to. And she doesn’t like that hind foot being touched or inspected much. I wanted to hold off on her amputation because I thought she deserved more time on all 4 legs. But, I think with the growth we’re seeing I won’t be able to hold off more than a few more months. I figure by April vacation, the tumors could be the size of baseballs. The last time I asked for your help, I wasn’t working and you saved me. The good news is....I’m working as a permanent sub and working toward my middle school teaching license. The pay isn’t great, but it’s enough to cover life—rent, utilities, car insurance, etc. It’s not enough to create a nest egg for times like these. That’s where you come in. I HATE that I need help to do this. I’ve worked so hard to try to be self sufficient, but being a one-income household with two teenagers puts me at a huge disadvantage. I'll do anything for Riley, so here I am asking again for my tribe’s help.
I'm scared for my #rileygirl, but I'm hopeful that the power of crowdfunding might help us give Riley the chance to run around with Rocky again, even if it is only on 3 legs. I set this campaign up for her previous surgery with a goal of $2000, and my tribe came through big time. I’ve increased the goal to $5000 ($2500-$3000 for the surgery) to help cover the cost of amputation and a night or two in the hospital. Thank you in advance for taking this journey with us.

Love, Tricia, Noah, Leah, Rocky, and Riley.
