Hi, my name is Ashleigh.

I’m reaching out with a heavy heart to ask for help for my parents, who are going through an incredibly tough time.

They are the first people to help others when they need help.

My dad, Richard, has been terminally ill for over three years. He’s unable to work and can barely walk anymore. His doctors have now deemed him palliative, meaning we’re focusing on keeping him as comfortable as possible.

My mum has been his rock the sole income earner and his full-time carer. But last week, while simply playing with her granddaughter, she tragically broke both her ankles. She’s now completely unable to walk or work. Because she’s a casual support worker, she has no access to paid leave, leaving them with no income at all.

We’ve explored every possible option accessing superannuation on compassionate grounds (which was denied) and applying for Centrelink support (also not possible while she’s still technically employed). This GoFundMe is truly our last resort.

My brother Dylan and I have been trying to help support as much as we can. But we both have families and bills of our own to pay.

Any help no matter how small would mean the world to us. Every dollar will go toward keeping a roof over their heads, covering medical costs, and helping them get through this heartbreaking time until they can get back on their feet.
